Job Details

My client is currently looking for front end engineers to help us build and expand our existing platform and help connect millions of people with their health and work benefits online. You will be working along side a team of other full stack engineers to help maintain, improve, and scale out our main product and APIs that handle billions of dollars in annual premiums. In this position, you will use your skills to solve challenging engineering and business problems for our users and partners.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Deliver high quality, scalable, and secure front end code for the applications that our customers depend on every day.
• Be part of a collaborative, cross functional team consisting of front end, back end, product, and UX.
• Ability to make and explain technology decisions.
• Ability to debug, fix, or improve existing code.
• Own and extend foundational frameworks and tools used in the front end stack.
• Influence and mentor other engineers to deliver testable code and best development practices, through code reviews or design meetings.
• Experience using a project management tool such as Atlassian tools.

Core Competencies:

• High proficiency in Javascript and React, as well as HTML and CSS.
• Understands and has a firm grasp of the fundamental technical aspects of the tools in their toolkit, and can make objective decisions on trade-offs.
• Attention to detail for producing customer facing, enterprise level applications.
• Ability to solve and explain complex technical problems to technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Certifications:

• Have 5+ years of experience shipping and maintaining Javascript and React (including state management and server side react) projects in a production application.
• Have 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining enterprise web applications.
• A demonstrated ability to create reliable and scalable React components.
• A proven track record of shipping quality code at scale with high uptime in a dynamic business environment.
• RESTful API consumer experience.
• Bonus: GraphQL experience.
• Bonus: AWS, Azure, or GCP experience.
